We alternate our cover subjects, with few exceptions, between restaurants and shopping. Although we’re big fans of The Pasta Shop (natch!), Tommy and his food hadn’t hit the cover yet (OGs may remember we did an interview with him when he initially opened though!). His menu always highlights the best of the season, and his plating is impeccable, so it was a natural choice. For this photo, it is the first time a business owner took the lead. We let Tommy in on the type of shot we were going for and he did the rest. One afternoon visit and after shooting a few different angles, we had the money shot. Tucking into a plate of this Angel Hair Pasta with Bay Scallops is the perfect antidote to cold Winter months. A bit of espelette pepper brings some heat, and keeps you coming back for more.
