If you’re looking for a beach experience in Denville but don’t live within a lake community, consider becoming a member of the Cook’s Pond Swim Facility. Located at 19 Entrance Way in Denville and spanning 12 acres, the Recreation Department offers full-week and weekend-only membership packages as well as a one-week trial membership (to just get your toes wet) to residents and non-residents of Denville. The season runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, open on the weekends from 12-6pm until 6/28/21 and then 11am-7:30pm every day for the rest of the season, weather permitting. Hours are subject to change after August 10th due to lifeguard availability.

Membership includes access to the beach, bathrooms, and outdoor showers with lifeguards and swim lessons available. Grills and picnic tables can be used at any time by members, and the picnic pavilion can be reserved for parties of 50 people or less. A small playground is adjacent to the pavilion to provide more fun for kids.
There are three ways to apply for membership:
- Visit Cook’s Pond and apply in person
- Download an application and drop off or send it to the Rec Department
- Sign up for an account on Community Pass and apply online (view instructions on how to navigate the site)
