Though they’ve been here for quite awhile, the American BBQ Company remains one of Denville’s best kept secrets. Tucked away in the back of an industrial section on the edge of town, we’ve had their food at several events over the years and, dare we say it…it’s finger-licking good! Let’s get to know them better.
How long has American BBQ been in Denville?
What do you love most about having a Denville-based business?
Denville is a really great town! It has more of a community feel than many small towns. A big part of that is having a vibrant downtown with great Mom and Pop shops, and plenty of parking instead of just a few strip malls. The people of Denville really care about the town, each other, and the small businesses.
What might people not know about your business?
I guess that we are more than just BBQ. We cater year ’round, indoors and out. We do lots of holiday catering, St. Patrick’s Day, Oktoberfests, company meetings, whatever!
What has been your most unusual catering request?
There have been a few over our 25 years. The one that springs to mind is a nudist colony that we catered for a few times (we remained fully clothed). We’ve cooked on boats, and roofs and at funerals.
What is in store for American BBQ Company over the next few years?
We are looking into possibly opening a store front so we can do some retail sales.
What are your most popular items?
People absolutely love our BBQ ribs, and our pulled pork is very popular also.
