With the pandemic and cold weather forcing us (and our kids!) inside most days, we’ve been making a concerted effort to find new ways to keep everyone happy and engaged. It had been awhile since we have been to Color Me Mine, and it seemed like the perfect afternoon activity to get a little creative while supporting another local business at the same time.

Although ownership changed early last year, it remains the same bright and cheerful spot we remembered from our previous visits. We took a few minutes to choose what ceramic pieces we wanted to paint and grabbed a long table in the back room. Sofia, one of the owners, came over and explained the process of choosing paint colors, and was great at checking on us multiple times during our visit (and we do mean “multiple” since we were there for a few hours!). Our girls quietly painted and chatted away, happy to get out of the house and do something a little different for a bit.
For those focusing on being safe during the pandemic, which we hope is all of you, we felt comfortable here. The tables are spaced apart, and you’re not sharing a table with anyone but those people you came with. We wore our masks the whole time, as did the staff, and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

As with any small business trying to keep afloat during the challenges of the pandemic, they are relying on the continued and loyal support of their customers, so if you’re looking for something creative and therapeutic to do, do pop in for a visit. And you don’t even need to bring your kids – there were a few adults there on their own while we were there – we ALL need these little breaks, and painting ceramics is just the way to get it.
